After Akamai Self Storage was recently awarded the Mini-Storage Messengerís 2006 Facility of the Year Award for New Facility, I have been reflecting on the key drivers for the overwhelming success the project had achieved. One of the early and critical decisions that ensured success for this project was our alliance with Diamondback Metal Systems. The development of Akamai Self Storage was tremendously aided by our partnership and the input that Diamondback Metal Systems provided from the early planning stages through the completion of the project. I was fortune enough to meet Diamondback at our very first industry show in San Diego during the summer of 2003. Our first meeting led to a consulting relationship that tremendously aided in the design of the facility. Diamondbackís advice and input effectively controlled costs while optimizing the design and amenity mix to ensure the development of a world-class facility designed specifically for its unique market.

After the design was solidified and construction started, I always felt that Diamondback responded and resolved the unavoidable construction issues and questions in a manner that was more consistent with having your corporate headquarters located minutes away rather than thousands of miles away. Given your large scope of work on the project, Diamondback took the leadership role necessary to drive the overall construction process with all consultants and coordinate with the general contractor to ensure the project was effectively run. Even though our location was remote, supervision was never an issue and the work was completed safely. In order to use our construction dollars as efficiently as possible we completed the construction of the project on a very short timeline that would not have been feasible without Diamondbackís support and efforts.

Diamondback demonstrated such a high level of expertise and customer focus that I feel like hiring you provided our facility a true competitive advantage.
